Jerry,
Would you consider MegaSync as an alternative to Dropbox for the LL distros  Based in NZ they offer 50GB of secure cloud storage for free and have linux options..  Trialling it now as Dropbox storage offers limited  "free"capacity by modern standards.

I'd have to know more about them before answering that. Market share, cross-platform, how it interfaces (if at all) with Thunar, XFCE etc etc.

There are other robust solutions that don't specifically depend on the OS provider per say. E.g.: Syncthing or even Nextcloud.

I personally prefer Syncthing because it doesn't require a middle-man provider and the installation is pretty straight forward; your files are synced only within your own computers (those you install syncthing on) never storing anything off of your own devices. Nextcloud does require a box to act as a server though and there is initial configuration and some maintenance from time to time.

Irrespective, these are both solutions inclined towards putting yourself in control of your data and it could be a nice learning experience if you have the time to dig into them.

In your neck of the woods so you might be able to do due diligence more easily.

Reason for suggesting is that I frequently have to transfer large folders ( 100s MB) with clients/colleagues - and often their Dropbox  data capacities  are not big enough .  Hence I have been looking for an alternative.
Currently trialling it with one client at their suggestion.  They are on Windows , I , of course, am on LL Smile

Hope this helps
