Question about Forum Interface - gold_finger - 06-07-2017 When I log into the forum, this is what I see in upper right corner: ![]() When I hover my mouse over area circled in read, it reads "awaiting approval". What does that mean and what is the number "3" next to the flag? I thought it meant I have 3 messages to read, so I went to "My Messages" and read ones that were there. Is there something else this "awaiting approval" thing is wanting me to do because the number next to flag doesn't seem to go away after reading messages? Re: Question about Forum Interface - Valtam - 06-07-2017 Thanks gold_finger, I'll look into it. Re: Question about Forum Interface - Valtam - 06-07-2017 Does this show for anyone else? Re: Question about Forum Interface - supergamer - 06-07-2017 It does not show for me, the only issues I have is the insert code is backwards and when receiving a personal message it shows double times when logging in. No flag and no numbers Re: Question about Forum Interface - Valtam - 06-07-2017 [member=16]gold_finger[/member] what happens when you click on it? Re: Question about Forum Interface - gold_finger - 06-07-2017 [member=2]Jerry[/member] When I click on it it brings me to page looking like it's for administering the site and asks me to login (separately to that, even though I just logged into the forum). Below is screenshot of that and address shown in location bar is https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/admin/?area=viewmembers;sa=browse;type=approve. ![]() I entered my password, which worked to my surprise, and was brought to page showing 3 members awaiting to be approved for the forum. There were columns for ID, Username, Email Address, IP Address and Date Registered. I'm guessing that when people register for the site they end up on this list, which you (Jerry) look at before "approving" their registration -- is that correct? Am not providing screenshot of that page because it's got people's email addresses shown, but can email the pic to you if you want. The three IDs of those awaiting approval are 6952 (dated 5/27/17), 6963 (dated 6/2/17) and 6973 (dated 6/6/17). If I am supposed to be doing something about approving people's registrations, let me know what the process is for doing so; but I suspect this is not a page I'm supposed to be able to log into. Re: Question about Forum Interface - Valtam - 06-07-2017 Thank you gold_finger. Moderators have that option. Unless you are comfortable with deleting registered members that appear on that page, you don't have to do anything. I usually look at their profile in another tab and look for tell tale signs that it is either a legitimate registration or a bot. If it is illegitimate, I delete them. If I deem them legitimate, I approve them. Sent from my Mobile phone using Tapatalk Re: Question about Forum Interface - gold_finger - 06-07-2017 Okay, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for info. Last questions: If any moderator looks at and "approves" a registration, will they then disappear from list shown in my pic? EG. If you "approve" the three listed persons somewhere along the line, will that number "3" next to flag in my screenshot then disappear? If answer to above is "yes", then can I assume that you have looked at those three and have decided they might be bots; or have you just not had time to look at them yet? |
