iOS 11 officially drops support for 32-bit - Ottawagrant - 06-06-2017 Another nail in the 32-bit coffin. It's a question as well if 32-bit will be dropped in Ubuntu 18.04, or 18.10. If it's 18.04 then official 32-bit support for Ubuntu OS's will end in April of 2021. So what are users of Lubuntu & Xubuntu going to do? That's the market they aim at. I was looking at DistroWatch the other day & more & more Linux OS's are going 64-bit only. "Starting in January 2018, all new apps submitted to the Mac App Store must support 64-bit. From June 2018, the same requirement applies to new apps and updates. This marks the start of a transition where in a few years, 32-bit Mac apps will no longer be supported and won’t run." Got an iPhone 5? Soon to be a very expensive brick. Oh, it'll still work, but it won't get any security updates. Who wants a phone that can be hacked?
