How to check sound problem - JohnD - 04-29-2017 I've installed Linux Lite on a PC of a colleague. He was happy, but the sound doesn't work. Tomorrow I will visit this colleague to fix the problem. Unfortunatelly I've not the details of the system now. Only this facts, I've saved on my computer: Quote:Intel® Core2 Duo CPU [email protected] GHz What is the best way or sequence of steps to check a sound problem? I assume, if I do not solve the problem tomorrow, he will cancel LL totally. He is not the most patient person I know. Re: How to check sound problem - bitsnpcs - 04-30-2017 Hello JohnD, a search shows this uses alsa driver ? Look at installing and configuring the alsa driver. One solution I came across recently with this was if the audio is not working to, change the alsa output from the audio speakers, to analogue headphones settings, then the sound came out the speakers. It's a known issue with alsa configuration. There are a lot of solutions for alsa driver grouped together here - https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver Re: How to check sound problem - Valtam - 04-30-2017 aplay -l will list all of his sound devices. That's a good place to start. |
