Linux Lite 3.4 - f23948 - 01-15-2017 In the future, please do NOT make more flat and metro theme & appearance similar to Zorin OS 12! Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - Coastie - 01-15-2017 It doesn't matter to me what themes Jerry and the team pick because themes and icons are a matter of personal preference. I add my choice of theme and icons. It is easy to do and something for new Linux users to start their learning on customizing Linux. http://www.freecinema2022.gq/manual/customize.html#themes Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - bluzeo - 01-15-2017 could we get some anime themes and feel to the icons ? i would love to see some culture references in the look. it morphin time Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - mdavies5 - 03-01-2017 Themes are a personal choice. I do not like the default as the windows have no borders and the title background is the same as the window. With multiple windows loaded it is impossible to find the window you want. Even worse with dialog boxes. I tried to load new software and got a message that I was not connected to the internet. This dialog was lost in the welcome screen; my first thought was that the software installer was not loading. I solved the problem simply by selecting a theme which had a strong title background. I now loaded every app and noted that almost all followed the new theme setting. Gnome-syslog, gnome-disks and deja-dup backups just ignored theme changes. SystemBack was very independent and always had a black title background. It would be nice if all developers followed the selected theme. Apart from that minor beef, 3.4 Beta is great (as always) and I look forward to final release in April. Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - f23948 - 03-04-2017 on next version, can you add Vivaldi in Lite Software please? thank you Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - ralphy - 03-05-2017 (03-04-2017, 10:04 PM)WinRocks4343 link Wrote: on next version, can you add Vivaldi in Lite Software please? thank you I'm afraid this is not something that will be added. There are few reasons for it; mainly because there is already 2 browsers options (Firefox - default browser and Chromium). Also, to add Vivaldi their PPA will need to be imported and so on. I personally like Vivaldi; it is the fastest browser I've used in my Linux boxes by far... very customizable, but Lite Software is just a gateway for the most common apps and not a software center, meaning that not every single app can or will be listed. Users can download the Vivaldi's .deb from their site and install it. Lite Tweaks recognizes 6 different browsers and allows users to set it as default (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium, Vivaldi, Pale Moon and Midori) but that's as far as the support goes I believe. Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - Valtam - 03-05-2017 What Ralphy said ^ Re: Linux Lite 3.4 - rokytnji - 03-05-2017 Here is hoping LL will still support older hardware. No matter what themes or browsers are included. Though if it won't. I'll still have options. I agree with you wholeheartedly rokytnji, it's my wish too that LL will continue to support older and / or low-powered machines. Unfortunately, 2 out of 4 of the family's machines - laptops (2) & (3) in sig below - appeared to lag significantly (to the point of mild irritation), following the move from LL2.8 to the LL3 series, This slowdown coincided with the introduction of System-D in the LL package. However, either this is only part of the story, or merely incidental and not a cause - I say this because Manjaro-xfce (comes prepackaged with System-D), but doesn't appear to cause any slowdown / lagginess on any of our setups.
