New Kernels in Linux Lite 3.2 - Valtam - 12-06-2016 It's great to see all these new kernels coming down through Install Updates. Makes me feel like my system is stronger for it. Re: New Kernels in Linux Lite 3.2 - Jocklad - 12-06-2016 Noticed there was a generic update this morning. Linuxlite 3.2x64 is running great. Jocklad Re: New Kernels in Linux Lite 3.2 - torreydale - 12-06-2016 Yeah, I'm looking forward to that when I decide to advance to the newer series. I and local people I've helped with Linux Lite are on the 2.x series. For now, I just remind myself to run "sudo apt-get install linux-generic," and I've told the others to set a monthly reminder to do the same. Re: New Kernels in Linux Lite 3.2 - firenice03 - 12-06-2016 I get the updates but noticed something funny during the last update... But notice the output of the following commands: Code: boys@TRCD-LL_Boys:~$ uname -r I've upgraded the kernel to 4.8 a while back - the "updates" are updating the 4.4 kernel. I have multiple kernels 4.4.53, 4.7 and 4.8. (I cleaned up the other prior 4.4's so only 4.4.53 remains.. ) Just curious if the auto updater updates the base or current kernel. Maybe this is normal functionality?? Re: New Kernels in Linux Lite 3.2 - firenice03 - 12-06-2016 Normal on the mini with 4.4..? Heres the Kangaroo w/ 4.7.. Full output uname: Linux LL-Kangaroo 4.7.0-linuxlite #1 SMP Mon Jul 25 17:54:47 NZST 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux |
