Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - Wirezfree - 07-19-2016 This is supper chilled memory, -196C :o :o :o But 500 Terrabits per sq inch/25.4mm Re: Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - Valtam - 07-19-2016 [me=Jerry]pre-orders his 500 Terabit SD card.[/me] Re: Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - TMG1961 - 07-19-2016 -196C sounds very nice at te moment..temp going to be well over 30C here the next days Re: Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - nomko - 07-20-2016 (07-19-2016, 12:24 AM)Wirezfree link Wrote: This is supper chilled memory, -196C Will this kind of very low temperatures has it's on effect on how the memory works? I mean, it is so low that you basically freezing the memory in such way that even the memory won't work properly? The lower the temperature, the higher the resistance of the semiconductors? Re: Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - Wirezfree - 07-20-2016 @nomko, When you cool "certain" materials to extremely low temperatures, "strange" things happen as discovered by one of your country men ![]() Re: Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - avj - 07-20-2016 Looks to only be a proof of concept at this point. It will be a pretty incredible step forward if they can get to the point of manufacturing. Re: Really, Really, Really Cool Memory - Wirezfree - 07-20-2016 Yes, probably will never make it out of a lab.... Like the decades of research into "Organic" based memory/storage, nothing really viable at present... IBM have some new interesting memory stuff that possibly will make it out of the lab Phase Change Memory |
