Getting Netflix to work in Linux Lite 3.0 - RAB302 - 06-07-2016

I have a Dell Latitude D620 64 bit OS, In 2.8 release we had google and Netflix working. Now in the 3.0 release there is no google and no Netflix. Is there a fix for this?

I'm not sure if the Chromium browser will handle those things, but Google Chrome should.  You'll have to download Google Chrome for Linux separate from Linux Lite.

I tried with Chromium, wont work. How do you download google chrome manually since its not in the software lite tool package when you run it?

K, got it to work went straight to the google chrome site, and download it, didn't think it would be that simple, I thought I would have to  find and past the source code in the Terminal. Its all good. Ran into no problems this time.

Hello!

Yup. Chrome supports the Widevine DRM plugin needed for Netflix, but Chromium doesn't. Some OSs (Arch, Slackware) support it in 32-bit Chromium, but, unfortunately, not the 'buntus. YET.

With torrents, Popcorn TIme, and PlayOn for Windows, don't know why they bother, with DRM, other than to placate the MPAA. As long as there are workarounds, let them PLAY their games, I suppose...
