For anyone who has a newer computer as I do and has UEFI or EFI as the case may be, you might find this link useful. It will not be long where bios will be replaced and EFI will be the standard.

The most important thing will be if they ever decide to remove CSM or "Compatibility Support Module" from UEFI

A lot of refurbished computers with Windows 7 Home/Pro are on the market right now. Quite good computers & fairly inexpensive. I've been getting a few, cleaning them up & putting them in the closet. I just move parts in & out of them as needed. Linux Lite 3.0 will have 5 years of support. So it may be a decade by the time we get to Linux Lite 4.0. Something for folks to consider. Just as an example, a computer store in Toronto was clearing out HP Compaq 7900's. 4 gb memory, 3.0 MHz w/Windows 7 Home - $69.00. I kid you not. Not uncommon to find HP 6000's, 8 gb. memory & Windows 7 Pro for $160.00. Time to stock up.

Wirezfree.
I don`t think that would present too much of a problem, at least not for mine which is Intel. There is a work around the CSM but of course it varies from system to system.

@tomt
Thanks for link, I have a number of PC's with UEFI set for CSM, so far so good.

Your welcome wirezfree, here is another if per chance you happen to have Intel on any of them. Into the future we go.

I only have Intel, from low-end Dual Core Atom up to my mini-beast i7-4790S in a very small case.
