Dual boot worked for one day - Crazy Larry - 01-08-2016
I installed LL along side W7 and dual boot worked for 1 day but now when I select W7, computer goes blank for a second and then loops back to the grub dual boot screen. Around and around in a continuous loop . LL boots up and is a fine program but I still need W7 occasionally.........I also downloaded the LL 2.6 .iso file and burned it to disk. Do I just run the 2.6 iso and install it over the installed LL 2.4 ? I'm not really sure what to do.

Hi,
To upgrade from 2.4
Open Menu, Favorites, Install Updates.
When complete
Open Menu, Settings, Lite Upgrade.
Then follow the onscreen instructions,
reboot when finished.
Regarding Dual Boot,
Backup any user docs/files in your LL2.4 that are important.
I have never had any issues, but best to be sure.
When you have done the above.
Try this, Open Terminal, ctrl+T and run
Type:
Code:
sudo update-grubre-boot, and see if you can start Win7

Thanks for the info......I was able to upgrade to 2.6 but the dual boot still doesn't work. No problem loading LL 2.6 but it will not load W7. I have a few professional programs that only run in windows. If it wasn't for those, I would stay in LL.
......One other thing....when I select Shutdown it doesn't shutdown....It looks like it's gonna shutdown but it just reboots.

Not sure about the dual boot issue
I'm sure some more knowledgeable folks will be along at some point...

Boot Repair should fix your Windows 7 not booting. It scans for installed OSes, repairs GRUB accordingly, and generates a report to get further help if you need it...
