SOLVED iphone 2.1? - Not Mounting - newtusmaximus - 01-03-2016 Inherited old IPHONE which I wish to convert to an MP3 player & MP4 viewer ( if possible) for grandchild WITHOUT having to use ITunes. Tried to mount- Appears as icon on desktop but will not mount - switched on. Phone has been reset and is on local timezone (London). Fully charged etc. Phone in flight mode WIFI off. General Info Iphone version 6.1.6 Model MC132B/A Modem Firmware 05.16.08 13GB free storage UPDATE _ Case Marks Case Marks Model A1303 iPhone 16GB IC ID:579C-A1303A Believe this relates to Family iPhone 3GS ID: iPhone 2,1 Discontinued 09/2012 600 MHz Samsung ARM Cortex A8* RAM 256 MB Reference: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/iphone/specs/apple-iphone-3g-s-specs.html Have loaded via synaptik GTKPOD and latest libidevicemobile. Not sure how to access latter. Trying to avoid jailbreaking if possible (absinthe route?) - As last resort happy to sacrifice IOS and try to run an ANDROID or LL?? If something's available the Linux Lite way, I always try that first. The Clementine music player is also available via Lite Software. There are some hardware devices not supported by gtkpod, but since their website seems down, I think it is, but it's hard to know for sure if your iphone is in the list.
