Windows tiling - Coastie - 10-28-2015

Sorry if this small but annoying problem has already been covered in this forum or help manual. I cannot either find the fix or do not understand it if I did.  ???

Some how by accident I have changed my windows tiling setting. When I first boot up I normally start Thunderbird then start Firefox after reading mail. Thunderbird opens full screen down to panel which does not hide. This is what I want. When I start Firefox, it opens full screen but the title bar is below Thunderbird's and the window bottom is behind the panel instead of above it. I want Firefox full screen to the panel and completely covering Thunderbird's window. I use the icons in the panel to change programs.

How do I reset the window tiling the way I described?

Not sure I follow, but if its sizing and placement..
Typically re-sizing how you like, closing and relaunching typically "sets" it...
Example: Maximize Firefox close FF relaunching it should open full screen, re-sizing to something smaller closing and relaunching will typically open back to same size...
Think this works same as Windows... I prefer opening with smaller window sizes and if I recall I don't have to resize.. Unless what yours is doing is maximizing beyond the screen into the panel?

Sorry I wasn't clear. The  problem is placement not resizing. Size stays same but not placement. I also noticed same problem with Thunar but not LO Writer.  :o

Still not sure what I did to cause problem but found a fix finally after a lot of experimenting. Added a separator to each end of my dock style panel on bottom of screen. Increased length to 100 which still left my panel appearing as a centered dock. Background is solid color to match wall paper.

Made sure "Don't reserve space on borders" is unchecked. This only works when panel is attached to screen edge and is why I had to add separators to each end of pane.
