Some keyboard character keys in wrong place after upgrade to 2.6 - how to fix? - m654321 - 09-13-2015

Following updating to LL2.6, in my UEFI win8.1/LL2.4 dual-boot, the @ and " keys are reversed, and other keyboard characters are not where they should be, though the letter & numeral  keys seem to work fine as before.  I've checked the  Language settings (i.e. English, UK) and Keyboard settings (i.e. set to Asus Laptop), but these seem to be as before.  I'm perplexed...

Any help on this one is much appreciated...

Regards
Mike

Hi,

Sounds like something is set to English US.

The Language Support and Location should look like the following:-

I fixed this by:

1. Right click on Keyboard symbol on the bottom right hand side of desktop.
2. Select preferences.
3. Select Input Method tab.
4. Enable "Customizing active input methods" by left clicking on box.
5. Left click on Select an input method.
6. Highlight English and then select "English - English (UK,extended WinKeys) If required.
7. Left click on +Add.
5. Select US Keyboard and left click X Remove.
6. Close IBus Preferences.
