hidden wifi on old iMac works in LXLE but not liteos - morti - 09-06-2015 Ive two iMacs. The newer one is easy to set up wifi under Liteos (has hidden wifi option) but Liteos on my older imac doesn't have this setting. I just thought its probably older wifi so doesn't get detected...but if I run LXLE on the older iMac the hidden wifi option appears...and sets it up easily. Can I find out what apts or extras are in LXLE that I can install in Liteos to make this work? Re: hidden wifi on old iMac works in LXLE but not liteos - Valtam - 09-06-2015 What kernel version does the other linux OS use, and what are the specs of the older imac? Re: hidden wifi on old iMac works in LXLE but not liteos - morti - 09-08-2015 LXLE result from 'uname -r' is 3.13.0-49-generic iMac spec (from about this Mac) Model Name: iMac Model Identifier: iMac5,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Boot ROM Version: IM51.0090.B09 SMC Version (system): 1.8f2 'System profiler and benchmarks' in LXLE lists etho, lo and Wlan0 in 'Interfaces' where as in LiteOS it doesn't list Wlan0. Re: hidden wifi on old iMac works in LXLE but not liteos - rokytnji - 09-08-2015 LXLE has inxi in it. Post specs using that in terminal in lxle. Code: inxi -Fx example from my other touchscreen netook Code: $ inxi -Fx Re: hidden wifi on old iMac works in LXLE but not liteos - morti - 09-08-2015 Ta rokytnji, my live LXLE didn't have it installed but LiteOS did.
