Whisker Menu (Move an Icon?) - Xorcist - 08-29-2015

I haven't had much trouble installing applications or adding them to the desktop, etc. However today I installed the gnome-disk-utility, and it put a "Disks" icon under Accessories, I wanted to move it under System, and the best I could do was create a new item and disable the old one, no idea how to relocate an icon.

I also wasn't able to find where Whisker stores it's items (I'm assuming they are physical files somewhere on the disk). I know after installing gnome-disk-utility it put an entry in /usr/share/applications/ but I dont know how that relates to the Whisker menu.

Can anyone help me out a little.

That's a good question.  Seems like you did the right thing.  I don't see an intuitive way to move a menu entry from one category to the next.  But since all you have to do is hit the Super key (ie. the Windows key) and start typing in the word "Disks," it wouldn't matter much which category it's in.

But if you're trying to figure it out because of sheer curiosity, I understand.  If you figure it out, I'll be paying attention.

Check out the file, user/.config/xfce4/panel/whiskermenu-1.rc.

I have NO idea what the consequences of altering this file are. I would make a backup first.
