Do workarounds exist for USB3.0 incompatibility with Oracle Virtualbox? - m654321 - 05-04-2015

For those who run virtual machines using Oracle Virtual Box, you may have discovered
that Oracle doesn't support USB 3.0 ports.

If LL is using USB 3.0 drivers, I would assume that disabling them would let USB work
in the default 2.0 mode, and that this would therefore enable compatibility with Oracle VBox?

Would this workaround really work and has anyone tried it?  I get the impression that Oracle
are not in a hurry to upgradeto USB3.0 compatibility. It would be useful to default to USB2.0
compatibility to allow access to pendrive files, printers, etc via the USB ports.

Many thanks for any feedback on this one.
Regards
Mike

It appears it maybe fixed in the new VBox 5.0, which is in BETA
But given the Date I'm not so sure..??

Then again, there is another follow-up

Thanks for that Wirezfree... looks like I'll have to be patient and see what comes out of this
new beta version of Virtualbox.

Yours hopefully!
