How to set up TLP power manager on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430? - vaikus84 - 01-26-2015

Hello Fellow lappy users

What would be the best way for tweaking TLP power manager under Linux Lite 2.2 64 bit? Do I need to disable some tweaks that could conflict with it?

The goal is to have balanced usage and power consumption and to generate less heat with my lappy.

Do I need to post some hardware info and what would those commands be?

Thank you in advance,
vaikus84

Install using this - http://sourcedigit.com/12715-install-tlp-ubuntu-14-04-reduce-overheating-increase-battery-life/ It does not require any further tweaking.

Thanks Jerry.
Any further links on how to configure the TLP script specifically for ThinkPad T430?

From what I understand it is better to do further tweaking. Since the ThinkPad specific stuff is not active by default.

Hi,

I think you may find better guidance on some of the Hardware specific forums, like:

Thank you for notfying. I have version 0.7.0 installed.
Can't get acpi-call and tpacpi-bat to work though. Going mad over this hereĀ  >Sad

Googling shows a lot on the subject
This link gives some guidance,
BUT of interest there is a note about a problem with Thinkpad Firmware and charging not a TLP issue:

Since TLP version 0.7.0 acpi-call and tpacpi-bat also can do the trick for battery tresholds.
I installed the packages but no result. They don't seem to have the right folder structure made into the filesystem.
