A great place to learn & read . Re: new member without any knowledge - Donald Sowers - 01-12-2015 Greetings patrick!, You sound like me in about 2006 when a friend introduced me to Ubuntu. I never looked back. It takes some getting used to after Windoze but well worth it. Blessings to you, Don Re: new member without any knowledge - bitsnpcs - 01-12-2015 Hello patrick, Welcome to the LL community Re: new member without any knowledge - Valtam - 01-12-2015 Hi Patrick, have a look through the Help Manual, it will get you off to a great start. Menu > Favorites > Help Manual. Re: new member without any knowledge - patrick - 01-12-2015 thanks everyone, the help manual has been taken through. i just got myself ubuntu unleashed, second edition for ubuntu 7.02. since i don't have any knowledge of linux, i thought this might be a good start, since linux lite is based on ubuntu. i'll be guessing to go back to the roots i'll find myself understanding more about linux lite aswell. greetings, patrick Re: new member without any knowledge - Scott(0) - 01-12-2015 Hi Patrick, Great work! I just wanted to point out that while reading, the 2nd edition is based on Ubuntu 7.04 and Linux Lite 2.2 is based on Ubuntu 14.04. For reference, the 9th edition of the book is based on Ubuntu 14.04. There's nothing wrong with using an older book but keep in mind information in certain sections probably won't match very well. ~Scott Re: new member without any knowledge - Ajacker - 02-09-2015 7.04 - that would be for the April release in 2007. Re: new member without any knowledge - N4RPS - 02-10-2015 Hello! Welcome to Linux Lite. In addition to books, you should be able to find some excellent online resources to help you learn more about Linux. Besides, by the time a book gets published, it's most likely out of date anyway... 73 DE N4RPS Rob Re: new member without any knowledge - Snubbi - 02-10-2015 I highly recommend these two free magazines.
