Mini PC's Linux Compatability - Wirezfree - 12-11-2014

Hi,

I have been looking at get a very compact mini PC, but configuable/upgradable.
There are lots out there, but all with pretty fixed in configurations & spec.
This is the first time I have seen definite Linux info on any major suppliers site.

I'm looking at this one, and have found a UK supplier.

It will operate 24/7 at 50C ambient, it will also boot from USB & SD Card

If it lasts as long as my previous main PC, it will probably outlive me.

Shuttle does have a decent reputation, but do understand this machine is barebone - you do need to install the OS.

I suggest you surf thru the long list of pre-install linux vendors in my website.  The advantage is you know everything will work for linux.  Even if you use another distro and
drivers are not recognized, the linux drivers are floating on the internet.

My experience when new window models come out, it takes a few months for linux drivers to float around the internet, and about half an year for linux drviers to be included in
linux distros.  Getting a linux pre-installed machine avoids all the headache.

Hi Sheng-Chieh,

Thanks... Yes, I realise it is a Barebones.
That way I can decide what CPU, Memory, Disks I want.

I have 2 ASUS Mobo based Mini ITX's here that I built.
Hopefully I should not have any issues.
