If this is truelly a Priced distro as people and I think and follow it as fans,
Why not give us alternative REAL Lighter OS ? LXDE does everything one needs
and is pretty easy, I am total noob to linux that switched from windows,
but take it from me, LXDE is easy to use and configure !
Also, I know a good thing when I see it !
Why not give us a choice for a true Lite Linux ???
XFCE is nice an all but is still not considered lite enough
for this kind of ideals as Linux lite is saying is trying to accomplish,
it can only compete with Gnome and KDE as being lighter. There is
LXDE and E17
[P.S e17 is kinda wierd though, and harder to use]
unlike e17, its just so usable, even Mint linux realized it and use it
for their Debian remix distro !
Give us a second choice please !? New second .iso with it
as most others do it or preinstall it with same iso shipped with xfce!

Linux Lite needs to wake up too. Get on the horse and see what LXDE
can really accomplish, before you discard this awesome DE from your ideals/plans.

I hate to burst your bubble cjtron, but we will not be changing or adding the DE. Suggestions are of course welcome for adding and removing system components, but that excludes the DE. XFCE is still light, and as has been discussed before there is always something lighter, but that is not the only consideration here. Cheers.

If you are an accomplished linux user and know what you are doing, you are of course welcome to make your own modified build of LL. We don't have the time nor the inclination to support that, but being free software you are free to do as you wish. Windows has one 'DE' and you are stuck with it, in linux you have choice.

Meh. I made my own LXDE spin off of a core install. It was not the bees knees I thought it would be. But that was long ago and far far away in a land time forgot. 8)

On my Ubuntu 14.04 minimal iso install. I went with Icewm instead of LXDE.
Command line install is the way to roll baby!

If you like LXDE, I'd suggest LXLE. For XFCE, Linux Lite is my preferred distro.

Lxde may indeed be lighter, but not by enough to make a significant difference. Xfce is light enough to install on almost all PCs that are still being used today -- I've installed it on a few old P4's from 2001-02 with only 512MB of RAM and it works better than when they had XP on them. Aside from that, Xfce also allows for way more options to tweak and customize it than Lxde. So, for those that do want to spruce it up a bit, its much better. Just my 2 cents.
Lxle is the distro for you if that's what you want.

Couldn't agree more! Plus Xfce has the great Whisker menu. 8) Test drove other DE's on live DVD's and watched video reviews of many more. None of the menus compare and none of the other DE's seemed as tweakable or customizable.

On my old 2006 Dell with 1G of RAM, LL uses only 201MB of RAM with nothing running, and only jumps to about 500MB with Firefox and LO open. That's pretty light. If you need lighter, then you must have even less RAM in your computer.
