HP Deskjet 1050 (J410) print misaligned - john9159 - 10-29-2014 Tried to print off a form but the end result had approx. 30mm of the original document missing from the top with a corresponding blank section at the bottom, also 30mm. Hi, Not sure if it's valid/available for all HP Printer.?, My HP 3070A does provides this. I just open a Web Browser and an enter the I.P address of my printer. Not sure how you do it if it's USB.??, Hp Provide certain tools for Linux, HP-LIP Normally all the other tools are for Windows/Mac only Dave Re: HP Deskjet 1050 (J410) print misaligned - shengchieh - 10-30-2014 Can you try printing from various software, i.e., text editor, mousepad, firefox, libreoffice, etc, and see if you get the same result? Then you can discern if the problem with individual software or printer setup. Some utilities (e.g., text editor) always print top-left and I always need to add margins. Also, when you click "print" or do ctrl-p, a print window shows up. Look at all the tabs. Under Options, do you have checked "Ignore Scaling and Shrink to Fit Page Width"? Sheng-Chieh Re: HP Deskjet 1050 (J410) print misaligned - Valtam - 10-30-2014 Also check that on whatever software you are printing from, it is set to A4 and not Letter. Re: HP Deskjet 1050 (J410) print misaligned - Wirezfree - 10-31-2014 Hi, One last thing to add to the above, if it's not resolved yet,? and not being sure how you have the printer installed.? Being that it's an HP printer, did you look in the Help Manual from the "Main Menu".? Did you install the "HPLIP_GUI"..?? NO, then CTRL-ALT-T to open up a terminal, then enter: Code: sudo apt-get install hplip-gui You should then get a new menu option in "Settings" = "HPLIP Toolbox" Depending on if the Printer Supports it you may see various options like below to access various printer functions. ((when I clicked on open printer web page, 1st time it prompted me to select my default browser, select whatver you use on the list)) In the Tools section Tab on the webpage are various maintenance tasks, again depending on your printer, you may have "Alignment" Dave |
