I haven't even been able to try/install LL 4 yet, let alone 4.2...this freaking internet issue is driving me crazy!

You could quite easy Google each service to see what it does. You probably see the word network a lot and attribute that to repetition. Suffice to say each service is unique and necessary. Cheers.

[member=2]Jerry[/member], I have 21 partitions and 2 RAID1 volumes. My /etc is highly customized,
my /lib/systemd/system is very customized. This box runs kernel 4.19 with
Linux Lite 4.0
Is it safe to upgrade to LL 4.2 with this kind of configuration?

Sorry, I think the answer is that people who mess up their own LL systems like me, have to live with the results

New Lite Themes package up on repo now. New icon sets Papirus-Light, Paprius Dark, themes package updated to newest stable including highlighted Whisker Menu.
Install Updates to get it, have a look at the new features
