Selected software mirror. Checked my repository selection in Synaptic. All's good. The Beta was really good & the RC is the smoothest install of LL yet.

Glad to hear Smile

Added instructions to original post for those who may experience upgrade issues. This is only likely to occur within the first 24hrs of release.

Re: Linux Lite 4.2 Final Released - Nyto - 10-31-2018

No problems to report here.
I clicked update this morning and noticed it was downloading a new version of the manual, that's when I remembered "today's the day".
Afterwards, I clicked on Lite Upgrade and in no time I was seeing the reboot prompt, I rebooted and -oh my gosh!!, everything looks the same! (which is great news because I didn't want to lose my customizations 8) ).

I confirmed I was running 4.2, and then rebooted and timed my boot time. It was exactly the same 15 seconds from cold boot, so I'm happy as a tornado on a trailer park  ;D

Re: Linux Lite 4.2 Final Released - Nyto - 10-31-2018

Sorry, 5 minutes later and I already have a question:

When I run  systemctl list-unit-files | grep enabled, I see some weird instances running:

network-manager.service                    enabled
networkd-dispatcher.service                enabled
networking.service                                enabled
NetworkManager-dispatcher.service  enabled
NetworkManager.service                      enabled

So  network-manager.service  is different from  NetworkManager.service ??
I know they are, but why would someone need BOTH running?

And how about  networkd-dispatcher.service  and  NetworkManager-dispatcher.service ??
I know there's a small "d" letter there as well as the small caps/large caps, but why are both to be running?

I'm guessing one of the instances might be superseding the other or something like that??

I have been away from Linux Lite for awhile, exploring other distros (mainly to find one for my wife). I just did the upgrade, all went well. Nice job!

15 seconds, nice!

Re: Linux Lite 4.2 Final Released - Searchernow - 10-31-2018

I finally got time to install LL 4.0 at the weekend, and now upgraded to 4.2, which went smoothly! Thanks!

It's a superb OS, and my only complaint is I'm enjoying using it too much, can't get much else done.

I'd love to see people's reactions to a new laptop with this as the ready-installed OS.

Redshift is a nice addition to Lite Software, testing it for the first time tonight . And it comes fully translated for us non-English LL users.
