If I want to listen to a podcast online I click the (podcast) link in the browser and and it will play in my browser, Firefox. So my preferred software here is the browser.  If I want to listen to a podcast offline I save the podcast and use VLC to listen to it later. So my preferred software here is VLC. I'm sure they're more elaborate solutions out there but I just don't personally need them. Hopefully others will jump in and offer their  preferrences as well. Does that answer the question?

Many thanks Scott - it does indeed answer the question - very helpful  Wink
