I tried the suggestions from the link, but then Linux Lite wouldn't open anything with Wine associations so I reverted to letting wine manage associations via winecfg. I don't have time to mess this anymore lol. I'll just right-click .HYP files and open with wine and let .XEX files open automatically. No biggie...didn't realize this would be such a ball of twine. Don't use .HYP files very much anyway...just a small inconvenience.
