I wonder too. I sometimes feel guilty and hope that I didn't support some kind of slave labor in China. But when you want to buy a dozen or so boards you can't help but go for the best price. I just counted, and I actually have 16 of the UNO boards. I know I only paid $6 a piece which is rock bottom prices. Apparently I spent $96 just on the UNO boards. I do recall that I didn't buy them all at once. I only bought 2 to start with. And when they arrived and looked to be really well made and functioned perfectly I bought some more. And then I think I had some extra cash and decided to get the rest. I'm glad I did because those were pretty good prices and I like having a lot of them around so I don't need to take apart older projects to build new ones. 8) I have a lot more incentive to put time and effort into programing and designing electronic circuits knowing that if I blow an UNO I'll have a rapid replacement ready to go. I haven't blown any yet though. I drive almost everything through opto-couplers anyway just to isolate everything. So if a motor blows it's not going to take the UNO with it.
