Good article- gets the points across clearly Smile  However I  ask what the long term backup plan is should J, for whatever reason,  no longer  able to manage/ develop LL.  All too often Linux distros shine to later then disappear/wither.

Please excuse the question, but product/service risk management is one of my things..

There would have to be someone from here onwards who had exactly the same vision, ability, and time that I do. Until that person comes along, and something happened suddenly where I was no longer physically and or mentally able to work on the project, the inevitable would take place. If there was plenty of warning, I would advertise on the internet for someone to take over the project. Given our growing popularity and ranking, I doubt that would be to difficult Smile

The building of your LL development team , all of whom share the LL philosophy, might provide an answer..  Everyone is but one step away from the proverbial "London Bus"
There is a purpose in this awkward question.  LL is a concise reliable  user friendly package, with great on-line support from this forum.  It has considerable potential in SOHO and small business sector, especially with its older hardware compatibility.

In order to maximise that potential, it would be helpful to give potential users the assurance of long term support/development.

I have recently had this question raised indirectly, by a seller of used office equipment who is looking beyond the current well known Office software provider.  I am sure- world-wide that there other similar opportunities and hence this could well be an avenue worth pursuing?

newtusmaximus  - you left me headscratching - as a someone who grew up in London, used the London Bus to get to secondary school,  and who enjoyed eating at the many great restaurants in the Chinese quarter (SOHO) ...  :-\

Who are the members of the Linux Lite team?  It'd be nice for them all to get some recognition and appreciation on the web site.

And for those of us who can't code or do the technical stuff, but want to contribute more than just money and fanboy posts, any suggestions?

[member=149]newtusmaximus[/member] there are no guarantees in life. I have said in these Forums many times that I am in this for the long haul. Beyond that, no one can tell. Any operating system, software project can disappear over night.
