Re: Kernel Vulnerabilities in Ubuntu 16.04 - bfb - 06-30-2016 I have the 4.4.0 lite kernel but in lite 2.8. Quote:uname -a Do I need to upgrade? and how, since 2.8 is not based on the 16.04 repositories so if I do "sudo apt-get update" I will not get the new kernel, and 'sudo apt-get install linux-generic' will only install older packages... Re: Kernel Vulnerabilities in Ubuntu 16.04 - torreydale - 07-18-2016 4.4.0 is not 4.4.0-28. And as you stated, you are on LL 2.8 instead of LL 3.0. I take that to mean LL 2.8 needs this kernel upgrade as well. Can somebody please confirm if the upgrade is required in 2.8 or not? Re: Kernel Vulnerabilities in Ubuntu 16.04 - Valtam - 07-19-2016 12.04 = 1.x Series 14.04 = 2.x Series 16.04 = 3.x Series Re: Kernel Vulnerabilities in Ubuntu 16.04 - JmaCWQ - 07-19-2016 Thanks Jerry 8) Re: Kernel Vulnerabilities in Ubuntu 16.04 - Valtam - 07-19-2016 No problemo Re: Kernel Vulnerabilities in Ubuntu 16.04 - bfb - 07-19-2016 Thanks Torrydale. |
