But I want it to be automatic, since manually installed stuff breaks after a while. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2148044 Re: How to set up TLP power manager on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430? - vaikus84 - 02-08-2015 Any idea guys and girls? Re: How to set up TLP power manager on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430? - Wirezfree - 02-08-2015 Hi vaikus84, I've not seen anybody on the forum with the Thinkpad T430 So I think you may get better help on one of the Thinkpad focused forums. I have a pretty recent HP Laptop ~ TS13, I installed TLP and that was it, never even looked at config options. All I do know based on how it was before TLP, it runs @ 5C ~ 6C cooler, and battery life is @ 40 mins longer. Linux always without exception needs at least some form of tweaking. That goes for almost every package or system there is for it. At least that's my experience. And I have posted these questions in LinuxQuestions.org Re: How to set up TLP power manager on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430? - vaikus84 - 03-07-2015 I did e fresh install with acpi-call-dkms + tpacpi-bat and it works. A big no no here is to install tm-smapi when you have a Lenovo Thinkpad T430 or later. At least for now. Note! Changes to tp-smapi can be tracked here! https://github.com/evgeni/tp_smapi Changes to tpacpi-bat can be tracked here! https://github.com/teleshoes/tpacpi-bat |
